SPRINGTIME IN SUN VALLEY
As the weather motivates us to get outside residents are invited to enjoy the Sun Valley parks. The District operates and maintains 4 parks including the Sun Valley Community Park that offers a basketball court, volleyball, playground, soccer, baseball, skate park, BMX track, Zumba and Martial Arts. Gepford Park offers a basketball court, baseball field and playground. Highland Ranch and Sun Mesa Park are neighborhood parks with playgrounds.
PARK/POOL RENTALS
Why not have your birthday or graduation party at one of our parks, pool, or at the Neighborhood Center? They are available for private use by permit only. For more information visit wwww.svgid.com/recreation or call the District office.
SENIOR PROGRAM
The Sun Valley Neighborhood Center operates as a Senior Program site Monday – Friday 9am – 1pm and offers various activities, games, puzzle making, crafts, bingo and a free lunch served daily. Come enjoy these free activities or call (775) 673-9417 for more information.
GREEN SWEEP RECYCLING EVENT
The District is teaming up with Lifecycle Solutions and SIMS Recycling Solutions to offer a Appliance and Electronic Recycling Day for District customers. The recycling day will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9am until 2pm at the District’s Annex located at 110 West 4th Ave. Customers will be required to show proof of residency.
GREAT COMMUNITY CLEANUP
Sun Valley General Improvement District is a proud sponsor of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) Great Community Cleanup. This year’s cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017. Volunteers are encouraged to join in to help clean up the Sun Valley surrounding areas. Please visit www.ktmb.org or call 775-851-5185 for more information.
POOL OPENING/SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION
The Robert and Norma Fink Sun Valley Pool Complex located at the Sun Valley Community Park opens for the season on Friday, June 9, 2017 and will operate through Sunday, August 6, 2017. Swim lesson registration Monday, May 1, 2017 and is on a first come first serve basis.

DIVE INTO SUMMER
The District will be hosting its 5th Annual Dive Into Summer Event on Friday, June 9, 2017 beginning at 6pm at the Sun Valley Community Park. Mark your calendars to join us as this will be the one and only movie in the park night held this summer. It will include barbecue, raffle prizes, concessions, and a free movie in the park at dark; showing Secret Life of Pets.
WATER WISE
On the heels of a record breaking high precipitation winter, the District continues to encourage residents and businesses to conserve water on a daily basis and adhere to voluntary three times a week watering. Even addresses Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Odd addresses Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
